“Purple Up! For Military Kids”
Friday April 13th
Purple Up goes National!!!!
We encourage everyone across the state of New Hampshire (and the Country) to wear purple on Friday, April 13th, as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices. It all started here in New Hampshire, now everyone is jumping in with both feet across the Country! Let’s continue to lead the charge with 100% participation from everyone in our state! Join us in celebrating NH’s Purple Up Day and spread the word for everyone you know to wear their purple! Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red and Navy blue.
The Governor himself will be proclaiming April 13, 2012 as NH’s Purple Up Day in special honor and recognition of our military kids who have sacrificed so much as they continue their daily lives without their parent(s) for a period of time. Operation Military Kids (OMK) is a program to help bring awareness to the transitions these children must endure through pre-, during, and post deployment. As part of the OMK initiative, Purple Up Day is a great way to bring awareness across the state and is one small way to show our support for the bravery and strength or these children. This is not in support of any war, but is in support of our children who sacrifice so much. This is an acknowledgement of sacrifice that deserves to be recognized! Please come together, with the rest of the state…stand as one in a wave of purple across the state (and the nation!) to say to these children, “THANK YOU for YOUR service!
OMK hopes everyone will take this opportunity to appreciate and celebrate these young heroes. For more information:
